Emilie Palmelund is a Berlin based artist currently studying at the Swedish Royal Institute of Art. She works with sculpture, drawing and installations. With their eerie, anthropomorphic appearances, her sculptures are influenced by pop-culture and sci-fi. Something like a weird coalescence of Taiyo Matsumoto, Mark Fisher hauntology and Ursula K Le Guin's world building. The sculptures trace recognisable human forms that morph into more creature like shapes with fractal patterns.
While living in Stockholm, Emilie has been a part of organising a yearly group show taking place on a frozen lake:
Uttran. She recently showed her piece Laughing Sleeper at newly opened and acclaimed exhibition space Accelerator in Stockholm.
